Recipes for Disasters

I’m not a confrontational person, but through my art, I am given a voice to confront political and social issues that are important to me. Recipes for Disasters is a collection of 5 poems that combine satirical poetry with illustrations and relief prints to comment on the current political climate. My goal in juxtaposing humor and horror is to make serious topics more digestible. I want viewers of my work to be able to self-reflect and question their own biases. I want my art to exist as social commentary that can enact change and provoke new thoughts in the viewer.
