Anna Siemsen (she/her) is a Chinese-American artist from Zhuzhou, Hunan, China and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Anna's work focuses on aspects of her Chinese heritage and history. As a Chinese adoptee, and growing up in a multiracial family, she has spent years feeling torn between two cultures. This complex relationship rests at the core of her artwork. Anna’s most recent body of work takes aspects of traditional Chinese culture and brings them into a modern context through fashion design and videography. Her debut collection celebrates both the beauty and struggle that comes with many Asian-American diasporic experiences.
