Kindred

The world-shifting events in 2020 created physical and virtual distance between communities in the US, so I created something that celebrates humanity to bring people together. Kindred is a sequential short based on the universal emotions we all share according to Charles Darwin and a more recent study conducted by the University of California, Berkeley. With each cut, a new moment is introduced. I imagine the viewer mentally filling in these characters’ shoes and reliving their similar memories; reminding them that we all share kindred spirits.
