Within this work, I am reflecting on my recent time in St Petersburg, Florida. My process began with collecting detritus as I explored outdoor spaces around me and observed what physical objects were coexisting within them. I utilized textile practices and the care required within those time-consuming processes, sewing structures for the collection to be placed into and woven throughout in order to display garbage with the same care that was afforded to naturally occurring materials. The finished work serves as a snapshot of life, looking into what is cast away and left behind by all inhabitants, human or otherwise.
