RePose: Healthcare workers have to move and lift their body weight multiple times during their shift, leading to fatigue, pain, and risking repetitive strain injuries. Frequent patient repositioning is vital to prevent potentially life-threatening pressure injuries. Pressure injuries can result in increased length of stay in hospitals, increased medical cost, and decreased patient satisfaction. It usually takes 2-4 people to reposition a patient. A single nurse can do the same task utilizing “Re-Pose”, an assist device based on intelligent design and mechanical advantage.
