New Studio Practice: Fine Arts

With this series, I am working with Polaroid film and have been making transparencies from them. I was taken with the history of the format and its lasting influence on culture and technology over the decades. Polaroid is an intimate format; I was attracted to the versatility of the medium allowing me to operate in a new way. I was influenced heavily by the work of Eadweard Muybridge, and his still photography work that later would influence cinema, I found the layering effect of his work to be a compelling jumping off point when approaching a concept for this series.
