Microfiber pollution is incredibly detrimental to the environment. As one of the biggest sources of plastic pollution, there are limited tactics for combating this epidemic. On average, one person could release 900 million microfibers just by wearing their clothes. To emphasize microfibers disrupting the environment, I constructed a sculpture made entirely out of dryer lint. Using a combination of natural dyes and needle felting, the lint is formed to resemble grass, vines, dirt, moss, rocks, etc., to mimic vegetation growing on the side of a building. Through weaving this lint landscape, the work will demonstrate the extent of ecological damage.
